Is it true my dog id gonna die from parvo?
i've done everything under the sun.i've takin her to the vet,and there they would give her IV.Then,I would come home, and give her pedilyte with a syringe aswell as,yogurt(idk why they would tell me give her yogurt.)anyways, she is better.she's jumping around acting hyper;shes now eating her dog food, too.i was reading though a puppy that survives parvo, will later die from heart failure, but she seems so happy.she doesnt even seem weak.i go in two weeks to get her parvo vaccine.i bleached the whole house from top to bottom.i even bleached all my laundry!i just now need to bleach the yard.i just wanna know is she gonna live?when can i give her a bath?btw, shes six months.
answer:
Heart failure only occurs if the dog has not received treatment until really late in the disease dehydration normally kills them first

Sounds like she will be ok from what your describing though if your concerned take her back to the vet

If she is eating and drinking with no vomiting or diahorrea and she is a happy energetic dog you should be fine but be aware that you can not bring another unvaccinated dog onto your property for the next 5 years because it will still be in the environment despite bleaching
You did everything right and I'm sure your dog will live a happy healthy life!

(The yogurt is to promote good bacteria in the puppy's digestive system since the medication killed all of the bactiria in its body)
where did you read that a puppy that survives parvo will later die from heart failure?

the only place I can think of that would publish such unsupported nonsense is ... here.
maybe
Parvo is very serious, at the shelter i work at any dog with parvo is immediately looked at and given the best care. AND WE STERILIZE EVERYTHING. Parvo is very serious she should be kept away from other animals.

a dog CAN survive, and youre lucky if she did. She will live well, but she may or may not have complications in the future, which may be many years from now. IF she is six months she is still young and susceptible, so watch her carefully. but most dogs do fine after recovery.

For now enjoy your time with her. Not every dog lasts a long time. I have 2 dogs an older one and a puppy. the older one is beginning to fail at health but i try to love her everyday and cherish my days with her. MY last dog was only about 4 when she died (a dog got her) but you need to love your dog no matter what.
