Why does my boxer drool?
I have a 3 year old Female Boxer. And she drools ALOT when we go to the dog park around other dogs. It's really embarrassing and when she goes up to people and they push her away cause of the drool. She is very nice around the other dogs there, but seems a little timid by them. We have never owned another dog with her.
We are getting a new puppy soon so she won 't be alone, but if we get the dog will she learn to stop drooling?
Or cause we have the dog she will droll all the time?
And she doesn't drool around people at all.
Sooo why is she drooling around other dogs?
answer: All dogs drool some, boxers and other dogs with more jowls just have a bigger collection space for the drool to seep out from. When the dog is excited (or hungry) it stimulates their salivary glands to excrete more. It's just natural!
If it is embarrassing to you in public, try bringing a rag that you don't particularly like or some paper towels with you and clean her up periodically.:)
