We have a 7yr old sheppard that has 2 bark control devices so that she wont bark?
she has now come to over bark them (amuned) to them and continues to bark.Does anyone know of any other device or stronger something or other that will work, despartly needed.
answer: Bark collars are just an excuse for not training your dog. The lazy owner's way out.
Tell you what: Put the shock collar on the lowest setting, and try it on yourself. It hurts! Now imagine that on the highest setting, and that's what your dog feels. Throw them both out now and never buy another one!
You need to teach her the "quiet" command. When she barks at something, always let her bark exactly 3 times. The reason is that if you try to make a dog completely stop barking, it just frustrates them. The new rule is that she's allowed to bark 3 times, and only 3 times, before she has to be quiet.
Start off by doing something that makes her bark, whether it's the doorbell ringing, knocking on the door, whatever (have someone else help you). Have a treat in your hand - something yummy like pieces of hot dog - and show it to her. Have the other person do whatever makes her bark. Let her bark 3 times, then clap your hands to get her attention (if clapping doesn't work with her, try filling a soda can with coins and sharply shaking it once) and say "quiet" (or you can use something else, like "thank you" or "enough", just be sure to use the same word every time). As long as she stops barking, praise her and give her a treat. If she continues to bark, do not look at her or say a word, just get up and leave the room. That teaches her that barking means you leave. Then repeat.

Work on this every day, at least 3 times a day.
Remember - she's always allowed to bark 3 times, but then that's it. Eventually - and this is a very long eventually - she will only bark 3 times without you having to tell her to be quiet, but it will take a long while and a lot of training.
It is going to take a long time and a lot of hard work to get her to understand and obey the command. Barking is a natural behavior for dogs.
If you are going to own a dog, you have to be committed to training it. You can't be lazy and cover up the problem with cruel shock collars.
Making her tired is the only way to ensure that these devices work. If she does not receive adequate exercise (30 min walk a day MINIMUM) then her pent up energy will be released as barking, and no amount of force and punishment will stop it, if anything it will feed the problem causing her to become more agitated and anxious. I suggest having family members take turns walking her daily, if you are single, or pressed for time, hire a dog walker. Usually if your dog is good you can find a neighbor kid who will do it for a small sum:) After about a week of daily long walks, see if her temperament and barking has changed for the better.
Our Lab was abused by an anti-bark collar and by yelling and beating her to be quiet. I don't have a good outlook on them. You need to take off the collars and stop the abuse. Figure out WHY the dog is barking? Is it because the dog is left alone a lot and no or little attention paid to her? Is she bored? Does she stay in the house with you or is she banished to the yard or garage?

Usually dogs bark because they are lonely and want attention - they want to be with you.
you must be a troll.
and you want to fire up some people here.
nobody is as stupid to put 2 of those highly irritating and
harmful devices on a dog, completely ignoring the
fact that the only way to get rid of excessive barking is
to find the cause and train the dog to not bark.
and shepherd is spelled wrong.
How about you TRAIN the dog instead of shocking the heck out of the poor dog in hopes of a "quick fix." Or, re-home the dog to someone that is willing to train it and care for it properly.
Instead of splurging on another shock device that will ultimately fail in one way or another, why not put the money towards a good behaviorist? Find one in your area here:

Dogs sometimes bark to let out energy .. Mabye (s) he needs to exercise .. Does she bark at objects .. people .. what? Be more specific. recommendnd hiring a trainer or doing i yourself. Don't get a dog if your not willing to train it. Best of luck to you.

Bored dogs bark alot. The dog needs something to do - walk, play, go to the dog park, play with a friend. Instead of tormenting the dog entertain it. Sheps are smart and need some mental stimulation as well as physical activity.
Well I think you would get the idea that these things don't work the first two times .. You have to TRAIN YOUR DOG! Stop being lazy and trying to find a quick fix that doesn't work. Why does your dog bark?
