Beagles are great dogs - especially with kids - but they are very energetic. If your family is willing to spend a lot of time with and play with the dog every day it would probably be a good match.

I have one and she is amazing.
They are so loving, gentle with kids, and just are so precious.
They are very loyal, easy to train and as lnog as they get attention, pretty good all round.
They need to run though, so not an appartment dog. They need attention though, otherwise they go a bit stir crazy.

beagles are good natured dogs we have one but we use them for hunting they make GREAT rabbit dogs and even Deer
