Hi,
My dog has appeared to become really fat pretty much over night.
She is no longer pooing or eating.
I have an appointment for the vet booked in on thursday (NZ Time) for a different problem however i plan to bring that up.
Should i bring her in sooner.
And do you have any idea what it might be.
Please tell me if you are just saying the worse case scenario.

I think you should bring it forward as there sounds like there might be a blockage.

How is the dog in herself. If she is at all quiet or lethargic and not herself then make this an emergency.

mabe u should try giving it mabey a liquid laxative. Mabey she could be pregnate?

That sounds like Bloat. Or it could be some other kind of intestinal blockage . Has your dog gotten to any bones or plastic toys or plastic objects? Or eaten any rawhide? That can cause a blockage. pets question and answers,www.5d2d.com
I think it is very important to go to the Vet sooner than later. When a dog stops pooing there is something wrong. If she has stopped peeing too, she needs to see a Vet now or she could die quickly.

I would take her in as soon as possible unless she starts eating/pooping normally. It is very possible that she could be constipated and unable to poop. This is not uncommon, and when it happens it can get fairly serious rather quickly if not taken care of right away. If this is the case, the vet will have to "help things along". These symptoms are also common when the dog has swallowed a foreign body of some sort, which may require surgical removal. In either case, it can't wait until Thursday. Call your vet (or the emergency vet if your vet isn't open) for more specific advice .
