I am getting a hamster in a few days and I don't know what sex to get.
Female hamsters are technically considered to be more aggressive than male hamsters. Although that is not always true, the female hamster has a motherly instinct whether or not she has young. But, in most cases, it isn't the gender of hamster that makes them more aggressive. So either could work, i've had both and they both acted the same. The problem is you want to make sure the female is not pregnant, unless you want a pregnant hamster.
It's best to choose a hamster based on their personality and if they seem to like you.
There isn't too much difference between males and females, unless you have a combination of them.
Males can often be a bit more mellow and more playful, but not all of them. Females are sometimes a bit stinky at times, but not always.
It doesn't really matter what gender of hamster you get. It all depends on their personality. My hamster is a girl and when the first time i got her she did not even bite me and stayed in my hand. She's a short haired. Pick out a hamster that is active like running around the cage that he/she 's in when you see her/him.
it dependes what hamster you like at the shop like if you see a black furry one and it was a boy and you liked him very much then get a male
Male. They r more laid back and known to be friendlier. I had an excellent male hamster. Luke is a good name (short for lukas or lucas)
male! because what if the female is pregnant? sometimes pet store employees doesn't tell their customers if their females are pregnant
I had both and too be honest i didn `t see much of a difference haha.
