Question about Breeding on Gerbils?

  Hello.

Just a question I need to ask.

We have two litters now of gerbils, each litter has the same mother and a different father for each litter. Am I able too next year put a pup from the first litter and a pup from the second litter together to mate even though they have the same mum next year? Or would it cause genetic problem's in any of the new born.

If you do know any of this please get back to me on this and everything.

Thankyou.:)
Hello, No, you can't put the two together as they are related. This will cause genetic problems, but you could buy another gerbil and breed it with each of the babies that u want to have grown up 2 be mums ..

Good luck, congrats on the new litter. (I just got mine a few weeks ago, adorable lil things lol)
They are too closely related, and yes it will cause genetic problems. It would be considered incest it the human world for a half brother and sister to have children.
