I switched her from carefresh to aspen since it was so expensive. I'm worried if she has respiratory infection because she was making noises when she slept. I dont have a vet.
Yes, it's safe. But I'm not sure about the noises. Make sure you are cleaning the cage once a week or more. If the noises continue, it's time to switch the bedding.
I use to use a pine pellet bedding ... when I used a cedar bedding it got stuck in there urinary track (slivered) and killed my hamsters I found that is best for everything, then use tp rolls and paper they shred it to make there beds
yup, aspen is fine. don't use pine or cedar because it could cause respitory problems and may cause the hamster to die. for my guinea pig i use carefresh.
