Is it true a syrian hamster CANNOT live with another hamster at all. I was thinking about adopting these 2 hamsters from this lady but they are both males (son and father) and they live in one cage together (10 gallons ... It seems a bit small) but will they eventually kill each other?
Yes, Syrian (golden) hamsters will fight to the death. Young ones can stay together for a while, but adults will not tolerate each other. They are solitary animals who prefer their own company.
yep, they will both kill each other, but if you really want two hamsters consider getting a pair of dwarf hamsters, there verry social and love to be around other hamsters:)
