I want him to get more exercise. He is sorta fat and you cant see his feet. But hes not SUPER FAT. Hes just ummm ehhhh Chubby. I let him run around in an empty bedroom but what else can i do? Thanks:)
All guinea pigs are chubby. You cannot get them to loose weight. They are grazers and need to eat all day long. Rather then do activities with your guinea pig you need to give him love and affection. You are meant to have guinea pigs in pairs so they have a friend to play with and you provide the affection.
If you can, try and weigh him, he should be between 900g and 1300g, if he is a pure bred i'd say the maximum could be 1400grams. If you don't use grams go on google and type in weight unit converter.
To help him lose weight if he's not in the right weight zone, give him less muesli/pellets and don't give him broccoli if he has it, also let him out in that spare bedroom of yours for 2 or 3, 20 minute sessions per day, put a tube or two in there and some cat balls. You could also join in the fun and sit down and push his bottom along a bit the get him moving.
