I have a guinea pig and she makes lots of different squeaks and noises, but I was wondering what they mean. I know that when I'm feeding her she makes very loud squeaks which means shes probably excited for her food but when I'm holding her or petting her she makes soft squeaks and occasionally a small series of squeaks that kind of goes from high to low and quiet, so what does it mean? happy? sad? scared?
This is a great web site and will explain all the little noises guinea pigs make:

Guinea pigs speak with "squeaks" through the frequency within the squeaks. They are so high frequency we can only hear the "squeaks" that we have come to associate with their voices. The truth is, they absorb the language their owners speak, and speak it themselves. But due to their under-developed vocal cords and jaw, only other Guinea pigs understand them. I would suggest purchasing a Frequency Manipulator Machine. It'll cost a few hundred dollars but will allow you and your Guinea pig to succesfully communicate with one another.
When she's wheeking around food, that means she's excited and hungry. When you're holding her, her squeaks are a series of happy noises
