It stinks no matter what i do ive scrubbed it and changed the bedding probably 5 times this week and nothing works. She is living up stairs now (dont worry its nice and warm up there) but i want to keep her in my room. I tried to keep her in my room the first day i got her and that didint work cuz she kept chewing on the bars so i got up every few seconds cuz i thought something was wrong. ANd how do i sleep through the noise of her wheel, im getting a silent spinnier but i hear it rattles, will i still be able to sleep? so basically how to i keep it from stinking up my room and how do i sleep through all her noise?
You could try litter training your hamster. Just get a small litter pan, and every time she poops, place it int he pan. Eventually she will catch on. My rat does this and it helps a LOT with cleaning. You just change the litter daily. Spot cleaning the cage helps to, so I advice getting unscented baby wipes. As for the noise, a silent spinner will help a lot. You could also trying using fleece as a liner on platforms so noise is muffled. As for the chewing of the bars, you could get some bitter apple spray that is used to get animals to stop chewing on things, and put it on the bars.
I've had two hamsters, and you can't really get rid of the smell. In less than a week is was used to the wheel, even though i had a loud one. You can try putting your pillow over your head, or at nighttime put the cage right outside your room, then when you wake up put it back. You also get used to the smell.
well the smell get order bedding like the lavender smelling ones and the noise get a silent spinner put vasilin in it and you litteraly cant hear it
put some bedding or some other thing in the hamster's cage which has fragrance.
