what guinea pig accessories should i put in my little Teddy's cage? he doesn't like his apple twigs ..
PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE no wheels or balls unless you want a guinea pig with an injured spine. They do not flex like rats and hamsters and can get serious back problems from things which make the middle of their backs bend downward.
Try different twigs. Ours like pieces of fruit wood (well seasoned and bark peeled off) that are about 4 "long and 1-1.5" in diameter. They love large pipe elbows like they use for drain pipe. Get ones that are 6 " ; or greater in diameter.
Huts, igloos or simply small cardboard boxes with a door cut in it are great. They will eat the box over time but it won't harm them and you can always get another
do not put an exercise ball in his cage. It might injure his back. He's a guinea pig, not a hamster. for things to chew on: find a block of wood and do not buy a salt wheel (they're bad for them).
Toys: PVC piping connected into a maze of tunnels (they LOVE <3 this) (this might be more practical for when you take him out for floor time)

empty toilet paper tubes stuffed with some kind of treat (lettuce, hay, parsley, etc.).
A little hay buffet if you don't like the hay all over the floor of the cage.
A plastic igloo for him to hide in and sleep in (guinea pigs need a place where they can feel secure and safe.)
I have 2 guinea pigs they love:
hardend carrot stick things from walmart,
blocks,
they r n love with there igloo,
timothy hay,
yogurt treats from petco,
wood sticks that are flavored,
we give ares slices of oranges
that is what are guinea pigs like. avoid MOST plastic things (igloo fine but the balls are not recomended they are just afraid of em) ares like food more then wood things but they do chew on them ... hope i helped
