It would be cheaper to neuter the male however please take in consideration that complications could occur later on eg infections ect ... If you do opt for this make sure you see an exotics specialsit vet. Once neutered the male should be kept seperate for a minimuim of 2 weeks to let the sperm dry up. here are some helpful atricles:
