lotsa guinea pig questions?

Hey. How do you train your guinea pig not to bite, and how long would it take to tame them? How often should you clean their cage? What are the good guinea pig noises. My guinea pig bites so much, and hard to. its getting really annoying ... how do i tame him? what are some good, cheap cages? how do you make c & c cages? what are some good toys, my guinea pig doesnt like the little logs. how big should the cage be for one guinea pig? Do you like that ecotrition furniture, can i get my guinea pig that? and the guy at the pet store said you couldn't give them fruits or veggies when they're babies, is this true? thanks!
1) I'm sure all guinea pigs are different but just telling mine to nibble and no bites works for me.=]

2) Guinea pigs take a while to get used to people, Mine in particular took a couple months to be comfortable with us.

3) I'd suggest cleaning their cage once a week, but more often if it gets really messy.

4) The good guinea pig noises: Purring, Squeaking. This site will help you identify them. Http://jackiesguineapiggies.com/guineapigsounds.html pets question and answers,www.5d2d.com

5) I believe the cage I bought at PetSmart was $ 20 - $ 30. It came with hay, food, a couple chew toys, and a water bottle.

6) Here's site on making cages: http://www.guineapigcages.com/howto.htm

7) My guinea pig loves his timothy tunnel, willow sticks, a small ball, wood chews, etc.

8) A cage for one guinea pig should be 1x3 or 2x3. At least mine is ...

9) Ecotrition furniture? As in the SnakShacks? The Snackshacks have alfalfa in them so I wouldn't recommend getting it as it isn't good for them.

10) I'm not sure about not giving them veggies as a baby but I do give my guinea pig carrots and apples.

Hope this helps.

My goodness!

I found that cleaning a cage is best when done every other day to every two days. Although I had 2 pigs and they were messy!

The only way I have found to "tame" a pig is to hold them. A lot. The more they get used to me handled and loved, the calmer they get. They get used to being held and loved on. Just be calm when you are holding them and be loving. pets question and answers,www.5d2d.com

Pigs make a lot of different noises. I just did a guinea pig sounds search online and found a few different pig sites that gave some great info. Such as:

I did not find many toys that my pigs liked. They mostly like to eat and poop.

it is not a good idea to give them fruits and veggies when they are tiny, they can't really digest it that well. Guinea pigs are great pets, and pretty easy going. Just give them love and comfort and a clean cage.

Oh! When looking at cages be certain to look at the bottom of the cage. You don't want anything they can get their little toes stuck in!
