I got him when he was 4 months old and I have had him for 4 months, he normally comes out of his little bed at 4pm at night and goes back in at about 7:30 AM, but today its 730 PM he wont come out he is just sitting there and even when i put his fave treat infront of him he wont come out??? what is wrong???
It's nothing unusual. In fact, my hamster usually sleeps from about 8:30 AM to 8:30 PM, but i just checked on her at 4:00 and she was awake. It's kind of like how on some days you just wanna rest, or how on Saturday you wanna sleep in. If your hamster keeps this up for another week or so and you're POSITIVE that he's not adjusting his sleeping schedule and being awake at different times, then you may want to consult a vet.
Is it cold? I mean is your house cold? If he's warm in his bed and your house is a bit chilly now the colder weather is here he's not going to want to come out. We've all had that snuggly warm in bed feeling and not wanted to get up. Make sure he's somewhere warm where he'll be happy to come out, but hamsters rarely stick to a time of geting up and going to bed, so dont worry too much. Some of my little fella's haven't come out for a couple of a days at a time, as long as he's moving/breathing he'll be fine
My old hamster used to do that once a monthish and when i cleaned him out i found a stack of food and all i could think was lazy hamster! alothough i let my hamster out of the cage al the time because he was really friendly. i wouldnt worry about it unless he keeps it up. if he does for about 3-4 days take him to the vets just in case. hope he is okaii!!:)
hamsters being nocturnal creatures dont really have times of when they are going to stay awake they suit themselves when you are sleeping you can be sure it is nipping round the cage as for food dont worry it will have a stash hidden somewhere, i wouldnt worry .
make sure he isnt dead you willl ave to reack his bed a little to do this othe wise pick him up and give him a bit of a health cheack and see if you can find anything if he hasnt perked up within the next 24-48 hours take him to the vets
If the room you are keeping him in is cold, then he'd be hibernating. if not, then as the lazy hamster person said, it might be lazy. check for lumps, or consault a bok
He could just being an off day, like us humans. If he keeps it up (i would give him 3/4 days) i would take him to the vet to get a check up.
