My rat Eva managed to escape her cage and meet up with my boy Butters who also escaped his cage to "visit" with her. I have an appointment for her to be fixed this Friday and if shes pregnant can they still do the operation and what are the risks associated with her being pregnant? I do not know if she is pregnant the incident happened early Wednesday morning. She did have a mucus plug so I'm assuming yes. Eva is 3.5 months old and weighs 8 oz, Please no criticism.
No I don't think any reputable vet would spay a pregnant rat, and if they are willing to then I would find a different vet.
Yes. They can still spay her. It depends on the vet , but many will go ahead and continue with the procedure if they find that the animal is pregnant, since they have already cut into the animal and there are massive pet overpopulation issues in most areas anyway.
They remove the uterus when they spay a cat/rat/dog, and thus any fetuses inside.
It's pretty routine for many vets who spay feral cats for trap-spay-release programs to spay pregnant females in various stages of pregnancy.

The risks increase further along in the pregnancy, so take her in as soon as you can. I would call your vet just let your vet know you suspect she may be pregnant, and see if he/she is still okay with spaying her. Some vets have moral objections to spay/abort operations.
Some vets will do emergency spays, though with rats spaying can be dangerous because its not uncommon for rats to die during the surgury. Just make sure you tell the vet before hand that she may be pregnant and tell him when it happened and the such. If he wont spay her he will tell you and probably will wait until the babies are weaned to try again. Though I suggest getting the male neutered as it is usually easier to neuter a male than to spay a female of most species.
