Single rat baby-will it live?

My female rat was pregnant and had babies while I was away. Sadly, only one of them is alive. I'm wondering if there could be complications with having only a single baby.
Everything will be fine with one baby. You are likely going to get a Goliath out of the deal. All of mommy's resources are going to go to one baby who will probably get big and get big quick. I don't know what caused the loss of the other pups, but make sure mommy is not dehydrated, has access to high protein food (egg and yogurt) and supply extra fluff and material so she cover her single pup more effectively.
If the mother is still alive, healthy and cares for the baby, then yes . but if she doesnt care or is unhealthy you will have to feed it warm pet milk in a seringe, i kept about a day or two age hedgehog and i kept them alive for about ummm a month or two, and they died ... but they died because one got out of its blanket at night and froze, and, the other died because my friend changed the cage and my little girl crawled under the steeming hot waterbottle * i said to my friend "make sure thers no where she can get thru coz shes fidgety "* and she left heapz of spaces ....
IDK if the mother is still alive or not if it is it should be fine and if not you better go to your local wal mart and get a animal baby bottle ... if she IS still alive then you need to separate the baby and the mother rat from the father and clean the cage and it should be fine!
