She is normally very playful and full of energy. She just scoots around, her legs don't seem to work right or she is just too weak. She just sleeps and she looks swollen. When I try to touch her she whimpers, I dont know what to do for her. Please help me or tell me what i can do to ease her pain if she is in any.
She needs to go to the vet ASAP! If a rat is actually expressing that it is in pain , then it is really bad. Rats have very high pain tolerance and don't show it, that is why they can seem fine one day and be really bad the next, that means it has gone beyond there capability to ignore. Be prepared that you might need to have her put to sleep. I'm sorry. Is she old?
Naturally, if there is something obviously wrong with your pet then it should see a vet.
I had a pet rat a few years back and it was the same with him. I rescued him and about 2 years later he became as you described. He was old and died.: `(A rat's average life span is only 2-3 years. (Unfortunately)
If your rat isn't that old then it might have gotten injured while it was playing around and hadn't let it get to her until recently, but never the less, the vet is the best thing for it as no one except a specialist (after an examination to be sure) would know the exact problem in your rat.
