I have three male pet mice. All litter mates, and all kept together from birth. The cage is two days old.
What can I do OTHER than cleaning to make the smell less intense?
I have 5 rats, and I use Carefresh bedding, I pick out the poop everyday, and I change the cage completely every week. When I change the bedding I wash the bottom with warm soapy water and spray the base and plastic shelves with a vinegar/water mix. I've never had a problem with smell.
I'm not sure about their diet, but when mice are fed too much fresh food their poop tends to be wet and smelly. Good luck! And consider the change to carefresh, it's amazing!
Here are some options
1. Feed them to the snake
2. Throw some garlic and butter on them, and burn the odor out.
3. Err, try baking soda in their bedding ... Im guess your using cedar chips .. that may help
feed them to your pet snake.
Superglue their noses.
