I rarely go out and catch grasshoppers and other little bugs for my hamsters jane loves grasshopers and she will try to shuv it into her mouth when i go to grab it from her if she could growl i think she would. Are these halthy to the hamsters ? I dont want to feed her something thats doing her harm or no good at all. sorry about typo its hard on ipod touch
Grasshoppers in themselves are great for hamsters, and most love them too!
However, catching them from outside is a very bad idea.
It puts your hamster at great risk of parasites and pesticides from the hopper, as well as potential toxins depending on the species.
If you want to feed your hamster insects then get some from a pet shop sold as reptile food, not from outside:)
