i have got my 5 month old hyperactive gerb a runnin wheel and want to help him learn how 2 use it
Not that hard. Try putting him in the wheel and spin it a little bit. If he starts running, do it a few more times. He'll find it fun and keep doing it in his cage, if he doesn't run at all, he'll usually just start when he wants exercise.
i didnt have to train my mice to use there wheel or my hamster nor my gerbil but i guess if u want to i would usually put treats on the wheel so they got on it then if they start to run in it give em treats so they no its good to use it then stop giving them treats and hell start to run in it himself
Normally they'll figure it out on their own. In fact, he/she probably already has but just doesn't feel like using it. Mine will be on it for like 2 seconds, but he doesn't really like ot for some reason. he prefers to just run blindly.
when my hamsters lazy and goes to here top wheel and just sits there and stuffs her face she foregets she has a wheel so i take her out and put her in the wheel then she starts running
