Do I need to get a mineral/salt wheel for my chipmunk? I know they need something to file their teeth on, but I don't want to overdose it on salt. Should I leave a small bowl of food in the cage for it or feed at certain times only? I know they like to hide food, so extra food may accumulate in the cage. Any other tips or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
That's awsome! Perhaps you should only put salt in for a few hours once every few days. If it really wants salt then it'll lick it when you put it in there. Animals shouldn't rely on salt to file down their teeth. Try wooden blocks from the petstore. I would keep the bowl full of food unless you notice your little chippy getting fat, then perhaps cut down. Best of luck!!
it will not overdose on salt lol. It will quit when its had enough. Idk if this applies to chipmunks too buy your suppose to have calcium suppliments for flying squirrels. and for the other part of the question you could probably feed it early in the morning before it goes to sleep. and then at night right when it wakes up: P you are very lucky lol and is it an albino one? cuz there so cute.
You should let the chipmunk go!!!! It is a wild animal, not a domestic pet !!!!
I had no idea u could get a chipmunk for a pet!
mabey u should ask the people at the petstore, idk ive never had a chipmunk but thats so cool!
