Do female mice smell bad?
i really want a pet mouse but mum said no cause they stink. but do females smell as well?
if your gonna make a smart *** comment don't bother, i need expert advice.

From what I can tell in my research, female mice don't smell as strongly as male mice, but their urine will smell if it builds up, just like any animal. If you want to convince your mum, you may want to promise to clean the litter out daily or every other day to keep it from smelling bad.

If you clean out the cage, no, female mice don't smell very much at all.

No, they really don't.
Mice (and rats) are very clean little critters. They groom themselves (and each other) constantly and actually get stressed and unhappy when they cannot stay clean.
The smell comes from living in dirty conditions ... they DO pee and poo in their cage, after all ... but if their cage is kept clean, the animals themselves don't stink.

Do male mice smell bad? Not going to lie, yes, they do.
Female mice? Nope. They do not smell hardly at all.

i have 9 female mice an 12 males. The females cage starts to smell after a week or 2 (but that's because there is 9 of them) the males cage is always the 1 that actually stinks.
Back when i had 1 female mouse the cage actually never smelt,of course it will eventually if you don't clean it. Tell your mom that ! female mouse will NOT smell. There's also this really good bedding made out of recycled newspaper that really absorbs all the smell (if any) and it is easier to clean out cause it don't stick to anything,but its a bit more expensive then the other bedding's.
