Don't give too many fresh fruits or veggies, they contain too much water and will cause wet tail (diarrhea). 2 or 3 very small servings per week is plenty. Dried fruits and veggies should be ok, like banana chips. Dry cereal is good, honey nut cheerios are a big hit. Actually, cheerios of any kind will probably be a favorite. Popped popcorn is a nice dry crunchy snack, but can sometimes get stuck in their cheek pouches. The occasional peanut or cashew is good, but very seldom, because of the high fat and protein content. Peanut butter is a big no-no, they can choke on it. Low salt crackers are good, like triscuit. If you really want to spoil him, once or twice a month you can give him a small piece of oatmeal cookie, without raisins. pets question and answers,www.5d2d.com
Do not give cheese or dairy products, most rodents are actually lactose intolerant.
