Should I buy a hamster from PETCO or PETSMART or an adopt agency?
I'm thinking of buying a hamster, but people have told me not to buy from PETCO and other companies like that, but there's never hamsters at shelters. Which one?
go to petco.. they have more options there and the people know what they are talking about plus they will match any lower price that you find for an animal, and accept coupons from petsmart!
petsmart, buy supplies from petco its cheaper but petsmart take better care of pets just my oppinion
Petco and Petsmart are both very bad choices. They both do not care about the animals AT ALL. They want profit. They get their hamsters in boxes. BOXES. That is cruel. You have a much greater chance of receiving a sick, pregnant, or wrongly sexed hamster. pets question and answers,www.5d2d.com

Adopt one from a local shelter or breeder. Please.

I work at Petco.
If you can, buy a hamster from a shelter, but they usually have only cats and dogs. The only other place you can trust is Petsmart. Petco treats their pets horribly, I wouldn't be surprised if a hamster died a few days later, after you purchased it from Petco

my experience
Neither because they are not animal specialists. I would recommend going to the Humane Society. They are animal specialist and know what they are doing.
petfinder.com should have hamsters for adoption, which i would suggest because its always nice to adopt a homeless pet :)

Petco & petsmart are fine its just stupid rumors if you go they have very nice homes for them in the stores and I have gotten 2 hamsters from there & a fish and they are very healthy! But if you want to adopt, petfinder.com! bye<3
I think you should buy your hamster at PETCO. I bought 2 hamsters there and they are both super healthy and adorable!
