My Guinea Pig Freaks Out When I Cut Her Hair! HELP!?
My Guinea pig has huge knots in her fur and every time I got to try and cut it off she squeaks and runs away. Iv'e tried to comb it out but it's to big of a knot. I also tried getting her to eat while I cut it but that doesn't work, and then I tried cutting of a little bit off at a time but nope that don't work eaither. She starts running up to hide on my shoulder when I cut it and is breathing hevaliy the whole freak out thing. Especaily when I try to cut the fur around her butt. Any suggestions?
Try to make sure you dont pull and wash her hair before it
Be careful DO NOT PULL HER HAIR. Also she may not be use to having a hair cut.
If you're unsure about how to do this,

just get a vet to do it.
It's probaly just scary she doesn't know wats going on and u may be pulling on her skin and can hurt a little but is mostly startling. U should have someone hold her for u while u cut her hair and have them whare gloves so she can't bite. She should get used to the idea once she relizes ur not going to hurt her:)
If you were brushing and combing her more she would not have the knots and if she did git one once and a while she would not freak as she would be use to you handling her.

my guinea pig had the same problem and that worked for me
let her sniff it out first, she will get scared but just hold it still. once she gets used to it (i hope she will) move it slightly from side to side and wen she reacts to nothing move it closer to her if she is still reaction-less then keep going, if she is freaked out back away and try this several more times. after that, gently grab a section of her hair and slowly cut it if she runs away just let her sniff it again and repeat these steps
