Is it okay to introduce a younger gerbil?
My gerbil cage mate died...
And i want to get a new friend for my gerbil. :)
The bad thing is that my gerbil is 6/7 months old.
and the petshops on only sell young gerbils eg. 6 weeks - 3/4 months..
Is it okay to introduce a gerbil that is WAY younger?
My gerbil isn't violent. ( He thinks he's a mom C:) I guess that's a really good thing.
I know this because, I got him to replace my very gerbil. And he didn't do anything territorial, aggressive etc.
He wasn't that attached to the old gerbil because they were only together for 3 months.
(the old one was really old :( )
I DO NOT WANT TO SEND HIM TO THE SPCA. D:<
Is it okay?. If not, i'll give him away -.-
you dont have to give him away they can be quite happy on there own. usually you cant introduce new gerbils as they are known to be quite terrartorial, just spend more time with him.
yeah get him a new friend thats wat did
I have had gerbils that don't do anything just sniff each other and not fight. But since your going with very young gerbils I am going to say get 2 just to be on the safe side. Younger gerbils usually don't fight. But talk to the older one. pets question and answers,www.5d2d.com
I wouldn't get ride of your older gerbil if you don't want to chance the younger ones being attacked then I would say keep him just spend more time with him if you can and he should be fine.
And mom gerbils are very mean because they are protecting the young. Sorry to say you just have a really tame male which males are much tamer than the females :D
