How do I make my guinea pig happy?

How do I make my guinea pig happy?
I have a smaller cage with a play pin attached to it to make it bigger for them & the cage door is kept open so they can climb in and out of the play pin. Yesterday my friends dog got into my room and jumped into the play pin. When I heard them sqealing I ran into my room to find one of my guinea pigs in its mouth and the other one terrified. My mom was able to get the dog out and we found out that the one in his mouth was dead. The guinea pig that is still alive was exteremly scared. I held her for hours while my mom cleaned the mess and her cage. She was shaking for awhile and she lost a lot of hair. I was covered in her fur. She has 3 or 4 patches of hair missing now. The whole time I held her she never used the bathroom. I put her in her cage and she just hides in her house. When I woke up this morning I noticed she had come out to poop. Since then she has stayed in her house. I have tried giving her her food and she ate a little bit of it. Then I took her house out and picked her up. She's been using the bathroom in her house which is a little odd. But when I held her she was nervous until I started feeding her timothy hay. When I put her back in she went straight into her house. She hasn't come out and she hasn't drank any water. I put water on my finger and she licked it off, but wouldn't drink out of the water bottle when i gave it to her in her house. I don't know what else to try...
Take her to the veterinarian and see what's going on.
u need to go to vet for the gp it is probably in shock it could die and im sorry about the other gp

thats really sad..i think your going to have to rearrange or preforably move her house and play pen..as she will find it hard to feel safe there now because of the dog, clearly she underwent alot of stress which is why she lost some hair..i think also she may be lonely so buying her a friend may help..ofcourse introduce them slowly dont just put another guinea pig in the cage as they may fight, dont try too find a similar looking one to the one that sadly died it wont work, all in all that should help, also make sure ofcourse it cant happen again, and dont blame the dog thats perfectly natural for it do have done that. good luck :)
Take her to the vet, or you can: pets question and answers,www.5d2d.com
While on the couch lay her/him on your lap and stroke him/her gently.
Give her her favourite treats and see what changes.
If it doesnt work than take her to the vet. Poor piggie D:

Good luck (yn)
Wow, the poor pig! It must be terrified from the scary experience. Seeing it's cage mate die is horrifying! First of all, I'm really sorry about your other pig! That's horrible! That's happen to me before but the guinea pig didn't die, it was just in shock. So here is what I suggest:

Take the pig to the vet. After all that, the pig definitely needs a check up to make sure nothing has happened. For instance, the guinea pig could be a little injured by the dog but you just haven't noticed. If the guinea pig is losing fur and has patched than it definitely has something going on with it!

Spend all the time you can with the guinea pig! It needs some comfort. Also, you might want to get the guinea pig another cage mate, probably the same gender. Guinea pigs live better and longer with other guinea pigs. They don't live as healthy being alone.

Now, to prevent this from happening again, get a bigger cage (a c&c cage that you can research more about at cavycages.com). You can make c&c cages as big as you want and cost less than huge ones from pet stores. You can make the cage on a stand, that's what I did. That way the cage is higher up and unreachable to dogs. I have dogs too, so I need to make my cage dog proof. I didn't make a top to the cage because I don't like my cages like that. Now, my dogs are that big and one of them doesn't like killing rodents, just wants to play with them. My cage is tall enough where they can't reach it.

Try giving it more toys and activities to do during the day. To make the guinea pig feel more safe, you can get a blanket and put it over the cage so that it won't be as afraid to come out and eat and drink. Try putting some of the food in its hut/house so that it can just eat in there. If water bottles don't work for your guinea pig you can always try a water bowl. You'll have to clean water bowls often because poo gets kicked into them and makes the water dirty. pets question and answers,www.5d2d.com

Good luck! All my luck to you!

Hope for the best!
