Biting guinea pig problems?
He's a full grown piggie and I got him recently, the problem is his hard bites.
I can get him to feed out of my hand and sometimes he will let me pet him and hold still for me, I know how to tame piggies, I've just never had a problem biter like this. He's made me bleed but most of the time he just pinches really hard.
I think most of the time he's just nibbling like my other piggies except he doesn't know he's hurting me. I 'eep' to let him know he's hurt me in those cases and he stops.
Sometimes when I pick him up though it's like he's forgotten who I am and makes me bleed, just sinks his little teeth right in deep and holds on. I'm not getting rid of him but I'd love to break him of this, please help.
unfortunetly hes most likely the no holding type- he hate to be held... but maybe this website can help :) good luck!

I had a biter once and I also got her as an adult. I was able to get her to stop by kissing her!!. Every time Sally bit me i would pick her up and kiss her right on the mouth and cuddle her. It took 6 weeks and several bites for her to get that her mouth was for kissing not biting and when she did get it, it was adorable. Sally crawled up my chest and kissed me on the lips and the tip of my nose for 1/2 hour. Keep in mind a guinea pig kiss is a soft little nibble. Sally turned out to be the best guinea pig I have ever had, she loved to go visit people who were frail and who could not get out much. She would set on them and purr and purr!! So don;t give up hope, I know in Sally's case the biting was because she had been abused by her first owners so once she got she was not going to be hurt she was one big love bug!!
