Image two seperate mazes
One, the rat in the maze
The second, has the mouse in the maze
Both mazes have a chunk of cheese
Which rodent would get to the cheese first?
The rat (who is the smartest) or the mouse (who is the quickest)
Well, you shouldn't use cheese, but if we assume that the mazes are scaled appropriately to the animal, neither could be reasonably predicted to arrive first. Either one could win because their sense of exploration and smell are similar enough as to be negibigly different.
However, if the mazes were run several times, you can plan on the rat learning the correct path to take before the mouse figures it out.
Why is everyone saying rats and mice cant eat cheese? They bloody can!! And they love it! Well my rats do anyway and they are both nearly 4, so it cant do um that much harm! STOP THIS CHEESE RUMOUR B4 IT GETS OUT OF HAND!!

If the mazes are identical and to the same scale (ie, the mouse isn't dwarfed by a rat-sized maze, and vice-versa) then it would come down to which of the individual animals is the best at smelling and seeking. For a proper scientific result you'd have to repeat the experiment many times with different mice/rats to make sure you didn't have a stupid rat or really intelligent mouse on your one go.
You're not actually doing this are you? That would be really quite cruel unless you're an actual scientist.
I vote rat,
Simply because my two in a maze would race around, trying to find problems to solve!
they will figure things out quickly, and they learn really really fast ... especially when there is food involved.
And cheese doesn't kill them, but its not good for them either, because its hih in fat and dairy products, but they are not lactose intolerant.
.. Seriously, Nikita and Talia, (my two) i give very very occasionally not even once a week ... a small crum of cheese, it usually so sall, they have to lick it off my finger because i squashed it xD.
To be honest, they would be neck and neck all the way. The rat would sniff it out and get to it in a decent time, but the mouse would run around like crazy till he found it. So they would probably both get there at the same time, only using different tactics!

Cheese will actually kill them,
but the rat will probably eat through the walls and arrive faster,
this is dependent of course on both the original location of each rodent,
and that of the cheese,
also, on the configuration of each individual maze.
both would arrive at the same time.
neither they both hate cheese!
Rats all the WAY!!!:)
why would cheese kill rats or mice?? but it would deffo be the rat!! the cleverer animal wins in my eyes!!
You are sick! Go ask ur mate's WE DONT CARE! But it would be rats ...
