I came home from work today and her ear is blood red (but it is not bloody)
The inside of her ear has a small growth looking thing and Im not sure what
is wrong. She is acting normal, eating, running around etc but her
ear looks painful and I dont know much about hamster care.
She's a year old and plays in her cage which I literally cleaned a day ago and
in her hamster ball. Completely normal hamster behavior ...
Any suggestions for what is wrong with her???
Thanks to any and all who help: (

According to the picture reference, my speculation is that your hamster may have scratched herself in the ear a little too hard.
If you've ever watched a cat, or any animal, scratch their ears, they generally scratch around and INSIDE of their ear since ... they don't have thumbs.
pets question and answers,www.5d2d.com However, with no sign of blood present, it's hard to determine. It could be an infection or possibly a tumor. Whether it be one of these two things or neither, I highly, highly suggest taking your little hammy to the vet.
Older female hamsters have been known to be susceptible to "cauliflower" ears (similar to what humans can get) and sometimes this is considered a tumor.
As general knowledge, tumors do spread like cancer, so please take your pet to the vet, it would be cruel to let her suffer. Good luck!
My hamster started of with a growth in his ear and it turned out to be cancer and he began losing all his fur and lumps began to appear all over his body as did all his brothers if you really want to find out what is wrong with your hamster you should take it to the vet even though this could turn out to be dear
hope i helped
It looks that your hamster may have scratched its ear too hard or it's an infection. I would call a vet just to be sure that he's ok. First research a little more if hamsters ears can get infections from certain kinds of beddings, cage types, etc. Either way, good luck!
Your hamster may have scratched it's ear too hard and cut itself and that red thing may be an infection.
Maybe, it is a blister? Take her to the vet and get it checked out is the best bet
Well if you have another hamster it might have bitten her or it could be a scratch
