SHOULD I GET TWO FEMALE GUINEA PIGS TO GO WITH MY MALE?

HE SEEM A LITTLE UNHAPPY I KNOW HE IS NOT SICK BECAUSE I TAKE HIM TO THE VET BUT I HEARD THEY ARE BETTER IN PACKS IS THIS TRUE?
Only if you get him neutered or you want to have lots of pups. If he is intact you will need to get him out from the pregnant sows anyway so that sorts of defeats your purpose!

If he is getting a lot of attention from you he will be fine. If you get him a male friend they might or might not get along so that is always a crap shoot
They do much better in groups of 2 or 3. But unless your male has been neutered, don't get 2 other females cause guinea pigs can reproduce very quickly. Either make sure your male guinea pig has been neutered, or get 2 other males. Also males get very big, so if you end up with three males, you will definitely need a bigger cage. I would recommend a C & C cage, I'm sure you've heard of them. They're big and cheap and easy to clean here's the link:

Guinea pigs are recommended to be in pairs because they can become depressed or lonely if they're by themselves alot. pets question and answers,www.5d2d.com

This can actually make them physically ill, so it's considered best to have a companion for one.

The best pair combinations are

Two females

Two males (although they are known to fight, some get along just as well as two females would)

or

You can have a male and female in the same cage, but there is a big chance you'll end up with more than two guinea pigs before too long.;)

Neutering guinea pigs is possible, but that type of surgery for a small rodent can often be traumatizing, and in my opinion, somewhat cruel to the poor piggy.

At the very least, you can have two separate cages - one for the male and one for the female

You can put them side by side so that all three will still have interaction with each other, but if you do this, it's highly suggested that you let both play outside of the cage once a day with close supervision so that they don't mount each other and they can bond.

I wouldn't suggest two females to go with your one male. If they are put in separate cages, your little boy could feel left out thinking you got two other strange guinea pigs to replace him and he has no one to play with in his cage.: (Aww makes me sad to think about it.

I think your best option is to get another male and put them in the same cage, or if you really had to, neuter your boy and get him one girlfriend.

Good luck!
They do better in small groups. As a matter of fact, experimental ethics requires that guinea pigs be kept with other guinea pigs unless the experiment would specifically require them to be separated; it's that critical for them to be kept in groups.

However, only get females if he's been neutered.
Well unless you want them to mate that could be a bad idea ... Maybe you could take them out and let them see each other every so often so he can be with them sometimes. Put their cages together so the can 'squeak' to each other and see each other.
Thats fine ONLY if you neuter him 2-3 weeks prior to getting the females. They are much happier in groups, and trios tend to live more harmonious than pairs as well.
they are better in groups, but unless you want 8 guinea pig babies, dont get females. also, some males dont get along.
Get another boar unless you want more babies than you can handle!!
