Okay, how much would having rats and guinea pigs cost (also

Now before you answer, I am not going to pick best answer depending on the number of questions you answer (but the more the merrier, right?: D). I will pick depending on how much CORRECT information you give me.

I would like a rat (I know you have to have two or more) but I first want to know how much it would cost to get everything?

I plan on building my own two story cage with wire mesh (or chicken wire that I already have but I may need more) and some thing else. I was thinking wood, but if you have any other ideas please tell me! Also, if you can add the price of what that item would be then BONUS!: D

How much would food cost monthly? What would be best but cheapest to buy? Also, could I feed them fruits only once a day?

How much would bedding cost monthly? What would be best but cheapest to buy? I heard aspen, cedar, and pine is bad. Is that right? Would it be okay to use blankets (I know it will be hard, but I plan to litter-train them) or would it be hard to wash them? pets question and answers,www.5d2d.com

Any homemade toys site or ideas? What would be best to make or buy for them?

Where can I actually adopt a baby to young rat? I searched everywhere I could think of! There is no one here selling young rats! Some are old or adults and I would like as much time as I could with my rats since they have such short lives: (. I wouldn't mind having an adult so much if they could live at least ten or older. Where can I adopt a young guinea pig?

Any other cost or care information would be VERY helpful!

Now onto guinea pigs, I am going to use C & C cage materials and build it myself. Where can I find them exactly? What size of the grids would be best? I heard there is ones with small squares and others with large ones. How much would they cost roughly including the grids and cloroplast?

All the other questions on guinea pigs are the same as I listed with rats.

Also, if I let my rats and guinea pigs out to play, would they harm each other or enjoy each other?

I live in the US if that helps with the questions.
$ 50-150 depending on how you create their home.

Thats good. Chicken wire may not be the best, depending if its a female or male. I would get a male rat. $ 20 to make a 2 story cage.

Depending if you want the simple of the simplest food, $ 15 a month. Fruits would be a treat if you train them.

The same kind of bedding the store uses, like chips. Usually ten dollars. Blankets would be good.

homemade toys would cause harm if they tried to eat it.

Hmm .... I would try the pet shelters.

You sound like a very creative person. I only want to ask are you getting a girl or a boy? What will you call it.
Dont use mesh wire, use wood, chicken wire, or glass.

Depending on details and how much work is but into it it could vary from 50 - $ 200 (also depending on size)

Yes only feed fruits and veggies once a day, if you give them more they will get very sick, also, there are many brands to choose from, and diffrent brands depending exactly which local pet store u go to (The one in ur town, but then u have to tell me ur town name which i dont want) And it cost maybe $ 10 a month

Dont use Blankets. Aspen is fine. Cedar and pine u need to watch out for. Also, those are only like that because alot of people have allergic reactions (well there pets: P) but not all. Also, it depends on brand and size. I have a huge bag, so i only pay $ 30 like every year.

Sorry i dont no sites, but i no many home-made toys:

Toilet paper rolls

Paper towel rolls

Boxes

Tissue boxes without plastic

small boxes

Wood

twigs

egg carton

tissues

WAIT no i found a site!! Http://www.dapper.com.au/toys.htm

You can get any pet from ASAP, dogs, cats, small rodents, reptiles ect, but personally i like buying them from petsmart and petco, because i feel like im saving them from a terrible, and life or torture.

Wheel (for rats NOT guinea pigs) about 5 bucks

a little house about 3-5 bucks

and thats about it for that

I know that any local pet store supplies all of this stuff, and the size depends. U can ask ur local pet store person manager thingy person: PPP, and he will give u some good suggestions.

That depends, most likley ignore each other, but id be very careful .. like i hope ur not planning to have them in the came cage

and sometimes they will be friends, others will fight, but u will find out by seeing how they react the frist time together.

EDIT: i was glancing through the answer above when i was scrolling, i saw he said plastic houses are 7 bucks. DO NOT get plastic houses, they will chew them up and possibly eat it, which is bad for any rodents health. And they actually cost about 3-5 dollars.
Don't use wire mesh floor for guinea pigs they're feet are too small they need a hard surface or they can get stuck and get broken bones in their feet. Usually guinea pig cages are flat metal floor.
