Hi, i really want two guinea pigs and i'm having trouble convincing my mom to even let me have them. But i REALLY want some baby ones and i know for a fact she will not let me get a pregnant guinea pig. I want to girls. bUT IS THERE ANYWAY I could sneak getting a pregnant guinea pig? cuz after i get it she wont be able to take them back and she want give them away, i know her. so like i know some people accidently get pregnant ones , like is there anyway to make it look like that but really i know and she dont ????
It's a bad idea. How are you going to find homes for all of the babies? Most often people will buy them from you if they're cheap and they'll end up as food for other animals. If you keep them all you will need a LARGE area to house them, cages aren't made that big so you would have to have a few large cages and separate them. If you put males in with females you will just end up being over run with guinea pigs. They may also eat the babies as well. If you breed a female and she's too old or too young you'll end up with problems and could very possibly lose the mother - that is not responsible pet ownership.
pets question and answers,www.5d2d.com It is best to get them in pairs, I had a male and a female for years but had my male neutered right after I got him so that I wouldn't have to deal with babies. Even with a pair they need a very large cage , they are very active and smart little animals - a typical guinea pig cage isn't big enough for even one.
Thats an absolutely terrible idea. If your pig had boys then mama would be pregnant again. Just keep checking craigslist and shelters near you for babies. Irresponsible people get their pigs pregnant all the time and try giving away the babies so I'm sure eventually you will find what you are looking for.
Don't breed or buy, while shelter animals die! Adoption is the best choice, pet stores often sell sick pigs

I agree with the other post. VERY BAD IDEA! !!! I had 2 guinea pigs, before. Getting a pregnant guinea pig is an horrible idea for anyone but a breeder! I still recommend getting girls, but look for signs of pregnancy. Guinea pigs can die while giving birth, and so can the babies! Just go to a shelter, and look for some young looking ones, that's your best bet!
Good luck, but please don't get a pregnant one!
Sorry!
That is such a way bad idea and is totally immature thing to do. The only ones that are going to be hurt in this type of situation are the guinea pigs. Especially if once your mother finds out and she definitely will find out (noise, smell, extra trash from caging the cage every week) She just may tell you find a new home for them.
My last 2 sows that has babies cost me $ 400.00 each in vet bills with problems either with the pregnancy or with the birth. Unless you have money to burn you do not want to go the way of a pregnant sow as it can be very costly.
Alicia Foord is correct, EXCEPT guinea pigs do NOT eat their babies. Whoever made that up?

First, think about what you are saying here. You are looking for a way to lie to your mother. When (not if but when) she catches you in this lie or another one she will not be happy. Perhaps this kind of irresponsible behavior is why she is not letting you get a guinea pig in the first place.
So two pieces of advice. 1) clean up your act and prove to your mom that she can trust you to be a responsible pet owner. Without this, she won't let you have a guinea pig and she will be right!
2) if you prove to her that you deserve a pig, get a youngster so you can watch it grow up and satisfy the having a baby guinea pig thing. Do not get a pregnant sow. Are you willing to run a 1 in 5 chance that she will die from pregnancy related issues? Are you prepared to pay for vet care that may be necessary if she has a problem pregnancy? Are you prepared to deal with up to 6 pups to re-home? You better believe that mom won ' t let you keep them all 'cause she won't! (moms are like that). Those are just a few of the reasons you don't want a pregnant sow.
