They hate every toy i give them except cardboard boxes and cardboard tubes. Any help?!
Make some tunnels and mazes out of PVC piping. It's a wonderful inexpensive toy. Just make sure you get it pretty wide in order for them to fit through it. Guinea pigs love tunnels. Try putting lettuce or hay, or parsley or some other treat inside the tubes to make them even more appealing. And when you take them out for floor time, make sure you only use that space (room ) a few time because it will get boring. Also rearrange the tubes and toys so it's new almost every time.
They don't really need toys, except maybe for floortime. But mine like the corn nature balls from petsmart, paper bags, oatmeal tubes, soda can tunnels, show boxes, and hay to burrow in.
you will never believe this but i have a white mixing bowl inside his cage and he loves it .. He will haul butt to one side and pick it up with his nose then go under the bowl and keep doing that .. lol .. I tried everything but all he likes is the bowl .. and boxes .. good luck
The 2 things our pigs love are pieces of fruit wood (well aged, bark removed about 3-4 "long and 1-1.5" in diameter) and pipe elbows. Go to a DIY store like Home Depot and get the elbows that they use for drain pipe. You want the 6 " ; diameter or larger.
Instead of buying toys it is much cheaper to give them boxes and tubes. If they like it them just give it to them. That's what my mate does with her hamsters:)
