Guinea pig info/suggestions?

I have two dogs atm ...

Looking at getting a guinea pig, wanted to know if someone can give me some good info on it:

1.Are there different breeds/a suggested breed?

2.Monthly/Early costs? (Including food and vet?, Etc)

3.How hard are they to take care of on a scale from 1to10

4. Any other good information or advice you can give to me
I have two 12 week old brothers who are Abyssinians so get two same sex for company - preferably from the same litter.

Tbh, I have spent a lot of money on large cages, an indoor run, fleeces, bowls, bedrooms, toys etc. But don't begrudge a penny of it - have just bought two snugglesafe heat pads ready for the cold winter nights even though they are permanently kept in my lounge.

Caring for them is relatively easy but just make time for them. I clean their cage daily whilst they are in the playpen, wash their bedding regularly so would say 8/10.

Give them lots of running space to play, tunnels, low platforms etc. Talk to them, stroke them if they'll let you - they get to know who you are and recognise lots of sounds ie the fridge door means food lol. I only have to touch anything in a plastic wrapper and they wheak like crazy as again they know its food related - they chunter at the phone and if the door goes.

Food is fairly cheap, mine have dried and a small amount of piggy muesli which they love, fresh veg twice a day - they love kale, flat lettuce (avoid iceberg) corn on the cob, sugarsnap peas and all the usual supermarket seasonal veg available . Vary it daily to keep it interesting for them, give them little treats - I buy dried apple chunks, readigrass and dried dandelion leaves, hay cakes and unlimited hay and fresh water.

Never use sawdust in their cage and straw can be sharp - fleeces are much better and can be washed regularly, get nice bedrooms for them as sometimes they need their own space.

Piggies are great pets and depend on you for everything like all pets so give them lots of love.
Well it takes a lot of caring but here are my answers:

1. There are many but if you are a beginner i suggest going with an Abyssinian.

2. Well the costs come to a few amounts but mine comes to about 35 pounds on a normal month but for my guinea pig to have her nails trimmed it will come to about 80 and for their shampoo.

1. Like almost every breed of animal (if not every), there are suggested breeds. Great starters are usually Americans (standard short-haired, smooth coat). Many people suggest the Abbys, but they're usually a little more fiesty.

2. It varies on what you get, starter costs are usually $ 200.

3. 7-8

Abyssinian or american, I have both. abyssinan are Adorable,

ah maybe 30 dollors or less per month unless you have to go to the vet

not hard at all as long as you give them attetion and treats

Get two they are very socialable animals and they live alot happier with a friend.
There's a lot of good advice here ... but I notice no one mentioned the guinealynx site. pets question and answers,www.5d2d.com
