i lost my hamster last night and i found him this morning eating rat poisoning in my pantry i keep him in my room and he escape his cage and crawled under my door and went down the stairs into my pantry when i found him he was eating rat poison is it to late to take him to the vet please answer as fast as you can
like all the answers here, just calmly (who am i kidding, freak out!!!) and take him to the vet or an emergency animal hospital.Like someone said, he might of stored it in his cheek pouch and the vet may be able to safely take it out. ACT FAST! dont loose you little friend, DONT give up! GET IN THE CAR RIGHT NOW AND TAKE HIM TO THE EMERGENCY VET !!!!!!!!!!!
SORRY, i am as freaked out as you are.My friends hamster ate it and is died because she did not take it the vet until the other day!
Take him to the vet NOW, if your lucky the hamster just stored the poison in its cheek and the vet may be able to get it out. If not then it would be best to put the hamster to sleep as it will be less painful for the poor thing.
don't give him any liquid! !!!!!! when rodents eat rat poison the first thing the go for is water cause they are thristy. and when the drink the poison kicks in and kills them. CAll the pet store and the vey. even call poison control
take him to a vet now! if not possible then try giving him lots of water to dilude it and let him eat bread/it soaks up fluids in the stomach. But seriously, get to a vet or animal hospital
