My little gerbil had a bloody nose from an accident in her cage or from her partner (not really sure). Her nose was healing but later on she started losing hair on her nose and started bleeding every once in awhile. Now its certain that she has lost a good load of hair from her nose to her right eye.
I am highly concerned for her health and this is my first time owning gerbils so i have no clue what is going on with her.
Please help me and any comment helps. Thank you
The injury is probably really bothering and itchy so she might be rubbing her nose on the sides of the cage but just to make sure i would take it to the vet. Sorry hope this helps!
When I had gerbils, one of them lost lots of hair around her nose at one point. She was perfectly fine, I think it was due to rubbing her nose against the bars or something like that. We didn't take her to the vet, but it got better on its own.
Your gerbil has probably lost hair because of the injury, but if he/she is acting fine and doesn't seem to be in pain then there is probably no problem. My gerbil didn't even seem to notice her nose problem!

I would leave it a day or so anyway, unless your gerbil is looking ill, and see if it improves or gets worse before deciding whether or not to take it to the vet.

Pet gerbils are usually covered in soft hair - even the inside of the ears and on the top of the feet. Sudden bald patches on a gerbil are usually signs of a health problem
