Ok so the rest of this was from another answer to another hamster question-that I wrote, I didn't copy someone else's-but I think it will really help you!!! Sorry if the beginning doesn 't make sense since it was for another question:)

It starts below:

Ok. I have a lot of experience w/hamsters, so I'm gonna try and summarize all of the important things. I don't wanna seem like a know-it-all; I'm just trying to help!! pets question and answers,www.5d2d.com

Cage:

You need to use at least 1-2 inches of bedding. Any bedding on the market (EXCEPT CEDAR, I don't really know how but it can really hurt your hamster) you can use in the cage. The cage should be cleaned with a mild dish cleaner (soap) every week (2 is fine, but 1 week is preferred.) The water bottle should be restocked every day, as well as the food bowl. * Dwarf hamsters should not be housed in wire cages. They are pretty nice escape artists! (You'd be surprised.)

Food/Water:

Water bottles are the best bet out of two. The only other thing to use is a water bowl, and they can be counter-productive because of the impending threat of the water becoming contaminated with bacteria.

Any hamster food from a pet store is fine. A couple times a week you can feed your hamster fresh fruits and veggies; there is a question on Yahoo! Answers that asks "What type of foods can you feed a Hamster?" And it gives a really long list of appropriate ones.

Toys/Nests/Et cetera: pets question and answers,www.5d2d.com

Your hamster * needs * to have a hideout (AKA nest). My latest hamster used a little blueberry cake shaped * thing * from Petco that I bought; it was hollowed out and my hamster slept in it every night. There are so many things you can buy from various stores for your hamster's hideout; there just has to be one! Some other things you want (if you need to have it i will put an asterisk * next to it) to have in your hamster cage would be a wheel *, salt lick, and random other things-they can be SAFE household items-that will entertain your hamster. You can use something as simple as a toilet paper tube! If you ever need a list, Google it and I'm sure it 'll come up with at least a few Youtube videos on how to make hamster toys.

Housing:

You cannot house two Syrian hamsters together. (Teddy bears, black bears, the "big" hamsters are Syrians. Campbell's Russians (dwarf hamsters), Winter Whites (dwarf hamsters), Roborovskis, and Chinese hamsters are not Syrians.) You cannot , cannot, cannot!! They will absolutely fight. I saw that you were going to buy two, and if you do end up buying more than one they all have to be in separate cages. Dwarf hamsters, and ONLY dwarf hamsters, can be kept in same-sex pairs (only because they'll breed if it's a male and a female) but really only if the hamsters were raised together. If you're wondering why the cages in the pet stores have multiple hamsters, it is because those hamsters are young and are not really territorial yet. It still isn't really the right thing to do though .... pets question and answers,www.5d2d.com

Random Facts:

NEVER NEVER NEVER feed your hamster chocolate or citrus fruits (lemons, oranges, grapefruits, clementines ....). They can be toxic and/or fatal.

Try not to spray random sprays around your hamster cage. Since hamsters clean themselves regularly, any thing that gets on their coat will end up in their mouth.

* Look up wet tail. You have to!! *

Syrian hamsters live 2-3 years.

Here are some websites to look up hamster info, just because I think you should be prepared for your new pet (s):

www.hamsterhideout.com

www.popularpets.net

www.hamsterific.com

www.google.com!

All this information should really help, but I strongly urge you to look up some more. Good luck with your new hamsters!!!

* This is new for this question. Not trying to be offensive, but I don't know if you are going to use the basket for a cage. I really don't think it is going to work for a hamster cage because a hamster would definitely be able to climb out of it. (if you don't believe me, please do! Hamsters are expert escape artists!!!) I'm sure if you Google 'hamster cages' or something of that sort you'll find a good cage!
srry about my attitude before ok i talked to my sis about it and she said i culd keep one so i dont have to hide it which was the only reason i said a basket now i found this cage that has everythng with it and a winter white hamster
