Hey guys,
while i was cleaning my rat's cage this evening, i found a lump under his armpit near his testicles, its fairly big and he walks lop sided, he doesn't seem to be in pain he just walks funny. Before the tumor he was sleeping a lot more, the tumors about the size of a big marble. My mom said we can't afford to take him to the vet to get it fixed. I don't want to see the tumor enlarge on his body, it would make me upset. I Love him dearly. What should i do to make him comfortable, what should i feed him and how long do you think he will have to live? Please help me!
As a rat mom, I too was wondering the same thing when I discovered a very small lump on my little guy. When doing some research, I found that not every growth is a tumor, however a only a vet can tell you for sure. I found many websites to be helpful in easing my initial panic - especially ratguide. And in the meantime I will monitor my rat closely.
