Today i bought a little hamster, and i already have another one, which is like 3-4 months old, but i put them together, and the bigger one started attacking the little one, and i took him away, so i don't know what to do, my mom says to put them together so they can get used to each other, but i am afraid the big one might kill the little one, and i cant put the little one in a separate cage because i don't have one, should i return it to the store or put them together so they can get used to each other? any suggestions? please help: '(
What breed are they
Are they both males? They might have territorial issues and would fight. Is the cage big enough for them? Keep them together for a little bit, if they fight again, take out the little hamster and scold the other hamster. Yell, NO! and see what he does. Put him back and keep him in your hands to see if he will attack him when you are protecting him. If they still fight, I'm sorry but you will need to return him. Also, I've heard that hamsters don't do well living with others.

Hamsters fight to determen who is the dominant male, si io you put 2 male hamsters togeder you will have only 1 (if you know what i mean), but if you put a male and a female togeder they will get along but that will mean that you will have 4 hamstes, the last alternative is theat you put them in the same cage but with a glass betwen them so they dont kill each other.
maby ther will get along, or not.
seperate but don't stop them from seeing eachother. just put the cages or whatever you have them in next to eachother. but don't have them in the same one. eventually they will get use to eachother
yes the big one will kill the smaller one give him to your sister/friend or some one that does not have one they only like being to gather from the start you should have got 2 sorry:)
get rid of one
here is what to do.
don't get rid of the new one! if you don't have a new cage try to separate the cage like if it has 2 levels have one level for the big one and one level for the small one and block off the door but make sure you can still get to the one on top. if you do this if the top part is bars then put down a measured piece of cardboard so it doesn't hurt its feet.if you only have a one floor cage divide it in half but made sure you can Access both half's. if not crack open that piggy bank with that money you have been saving up for. its your hammy here do you want the little one to die! buy another cage but it doesn't have to be a big one! it can be for the small dude.

i hope you try this!
Once the territorial scent issue has been resolved, the best way to stop two hamsters from fighting is to make sure they live in a large, stimulating environment. Living in cramped quarters can make them temperamental, and the larger the cage the better the odds that the fighting will cease. Providing more than one sleeping quarters that they can retreat to for some alone time will also help curb the likelihood of a fight. A variety of toys and ample food and treats will also keep them entertained and happy
Sometimes, despite all the best efforts, hamsters simply won't tolerate a cage mate. When this happens, there are only two courses of action that will stop the hamsters from fighting. The first allows them to remain in the same cage, but requires that they be separated by some kind of divider, such as a custom-cut piece of cardboard or glass. If this isn't an option due to the style of the habitat, and one or both of the hamsters is showing signs of injury, the only option left it to separate them permanently into two suitable habitats.
