how can i convince my mom to get a hamster?

well she thinks that there messy and smell bad but i always say that if you clean them the wont smell bad any more and also she dosen't want me to get it because i have a bird and she thinks i can't take care of both but i can i keep on telling her that but i guess i need help how to tell her that i can keep good care of both animals and how to get a hamster plz help me it's very urgent
You are right. They can be messy, and they can smell bad in certain circumstances, mostly due to neglect. If you clean their cage weekly and take out the wet spots every day, their cage won't smell bad. It's not going to bad enough to be able to smell it from across a room. If you're concerned about them being messy, make sure to get a cage with a high base because they do love kicking out bedding. Just take good care of them, hamsters love to escape. Besides, since hamsters are nocturnal, you can take care of your bird in the daytime and take care of your hamster in the evening! Make sure you know everything about hamsters, however, and help out around the house so to prove that you have a lot of extra time to use. pets question and answers,www.5d2d.com

I have a hamster and a guinea pig. Both need extensive cage cleanings. My hamster has her cleaning on Sunday, while my guinea pig has his on Saturday, so I don't need to do all this work every day. Every day, however , I still have to play with both of them, feed them, let them out for exercise. Although my brother helps me with the hamster sometimes, the guinea pig is all my job. He will even start wheeking and yelling at me if I ' m not on time. My hamster loves to run in her ball (make sure you get one) and loves to try to escape. If your hamster ever does escape, do not let your bird out, this can be dangerous to the hamsters.

Tell your mother that she won't be sure what a hamster is like until she knows all about them, and then tell her all there is to know. If she still does not accept, ask her to at least think about it. If she does not say anything after a few days, bring it up again, and don't give up! good luck!
well it depends on your mom. I shes the kind of person who is very strict and when she says something she means it, then your better off waiting a few days and not mentioning it at all but being super responsible. If shes the type of person who can be persuaded, try to find facts that will help her change her mind. You have to research them anyways. If you want to show her you can take care of a bird and a hamster, see if a friends would let you take care of their hamster for a couple of days. You can also leave subtle hints to show her how much you want one. You can leave a picture of the type of hamster you want on her pillow, or you can look through flyer's for pet smart and say something like "hey mom guess what, hamster chew blocks are on sale at pet smart". Things that would show her that you still really want a hamster, but you aren't gunna be overly pushy. You could also try asking for a hamster a bit more, then asking for something bigger and more hard to take care of than a hamster that she would want you to get even less. If you bug her for something like that then she might think "maybe we can get a hamster". If you want to convince her that they aren't messy, that could be a bit hard because they are, but if you get a cage with a deep base, they won't make as big of a mess on the floor. I also reccomend that you use carefresh ultra bedding. I like to buy it it different colours and then mix the colours together, but that can get a bit expensive. Hope I Helped !!!!!:)
I have two dogs, a cat, and now a hamster.

Do what I did and look up a lot of facts on the kind of hamster you want and when she gets home from work, make a whole 'presentation' on why hamsters are like your mini-best friend. You can also look up on the Youtube video of hamster and their owners and how sweet they are.

It worked for me!
Well you need to look up facts about hamster and show her they are not too hard to look after and all the good points and if there is bad points come up with a soluiton. Or if you are willing to go tht far make a presentation and show how dedicated you are to looking after one.

hope this helps:)
look up cute pictures of hamsters and mabve she will want 1 ... my friend has 2 hamsters and they dont smell .... and i bet you can take care of a bird and a hamster. ... i can take care of 3 dogs (siberian husky, cocker spaniel, and minature poodle .. and im getting a other siberian husky
I agree, start by getting facts about Hamsters. Then act more responsible around the house. This may convince your mom your ready to get a hamster. And spend more time with your bird. Make your mom KNOW your ready to take on another pet. GOOD LUCK>
You probably can't. Mom's the boss, respect her .
