Okay, my friend gave me this Dwarf hamster last year in December. Back then I was in middle school, with a little bit of homework, I was able to manage to take care of it. But now I am in High School and I barely even have time to play with it. Should I give it to the petshop? Will it be better and less lonely for my hamster? What if the Petshop doesn't accept my hamster: (?
That should be the last option. Ask around in your area. Friends, Family, anyone you would trust with the hamster. The second option is to put it up on
http://www.PetFinder.com . The third option would be to keep it, but have your family help you with the hamster too. Finally, the fourth option, but hopefully not for others ideas! Anyway, the fourth option is to give it back to the pet shop. If this is your decision, give it to a good pet shop you trust with your hamster.
Good Luck! I hope you can keep your hamster or at least give it to a good home.:]
The pet shop probably wouldn't take the hamster. If you think that you just can't take care of it, put an add up on craigslist or find another home that would be happy to take care of it, not a pet shop. Something you could do to play with it would be to buy a play pen and set it in there with some new toys. You wouldn't need to be there, but it would have time out of the cage.

Awww ... don't give it to petshops. They don't do a very good job of loving the little critter. They'll keep them alive, but your pet won't get the attention it wants. Also, they wont put your hamster with other hamsters, since they cant live together after a certain age. What i suggest is, if u have younger cousins, or if ur friends have little sibling, they probably will be more than happy to take him in. If you really have trouble, you could find a school .. like a preschool where it could live. They generally take in little animals, as long as it is tame enough. If no one will take it, you can put it somewhere in your house where a lot of people pass through (kitchen, living room) that way, even if u cant play with it, it wont be lonely.
I have the same exact problem! I don't know if I should give my dwarf hamster away or not? Well, my solution is maybe you should give it to someone who has a pet hamster and wants another one. Or, return it to the pet shop. Just be careful on what you choose on . (I still have mine and don't know what to do with it?) Good luck!!!:)
why not take a photo and post it on pre loved pets and the free ads explain your problem and you might even get a little bit of money out of it there is always people looking for pets out there and pet shops rarely take on hamsters over a certain age anyway

Please dont take him to the pet shop! ask around school to see if anyone wants him, post him on craigslist, try to find him a new home yourself. IF you cant find him a new home that way then take him to a local animal shelter, they will find him a good home if you cant.
Cant you just find him her an new home.
Ask friends and things be less stressful on the little thing:)
do u have facebook write it on there and stuff:)
and least then youd know what happened to him her and that he being looked after:)
