Problem is my mom and brother want to hold herand i held her a few times knowing i should let her get used to her cage but she was on the wheel and everything. When i took the top of her aquarium to pet her, she went into a corner, behind her wheel. I am afraid that she doesn't like me already because we held her. Everyone together probably held her 4 times today. Do you think it's something else. She was napping most of today (as they do) so i had to wake her up. Now she is awake but isn't eating out of her food bowl or drinking. I'm not sure she knows where it is because i gave her 3 (cherrio shaped) peices of food out of my hand and she was nibbling on them so i think shes hungry. I showed her the food boel but all she did was sniff it and walk away. What do you suggest i do? Its the same food the rescue gave but the water bottle is different . I'm actually afraid its a bit too low but still, shouldn't she be trying to drink from it? She was fine at the rescue and she was drinking from a water bottle there. The rescue had ahanging stand while im using suction cups. (i don't like them so much because the sipper hit lays agaisn't the wall of the tank.) What should i do?
HAHAHAHAHAHAH

Oh, and dont wake your hamster up in the day, they are nocturnal, so they eat, play, drink, party all at night;)
Just play with it like at 7 or 8 at night.
Hope i help!:)
Well, you have to hold them alot and they will get use to you. Thats what you have to do.
Okay stay calm! I had the same problem with mine a while back. She is probably very overwelmed from all the different scents from everyone that held her. You need to have everyone back off so you and her can get to know eachother more. She has to learn your scent and feel comfortable with you. Try putting treats on the palm of your hand, so she will walk on you (possibly nibble) and learn your scent. Hope this helps! Good luck !!!!
I think holding her could have scared her, but give her a couple days to get comfortable. She might be stressed if you just got her recently. When I get stressed I don't drink or eat a lot either. Just keep changing the water everyday and make sure the bowl is full. She might even eat and drink at night because they are nocturnal. Mine kept me up at night until I got used to it in my room. What you might do is just hold your hand in her cage once a day until she gets used to your smell and then she will take food out of it and eventually jump into your hand to get out of the cage. At least that is what my gerbil did. He really liked my dad. He liked to get out on top in his cage and run around. He also got fed a lot of people treats.
