Hello, i looked at my rat today and he has blood arround his teeth and gums, what should i do? Is it going to heal? I cant take him to the vet i cannot afford it.
Ring the vet, talking on the phone should cost nothing. Alternatively, try a local animal charity/rescue/shelter to see if they have a vet on duty who can help you. Are you sure it is blood and not porphyrin (red pigment)?
Bleeding from inside the mouth can be difficult to deal with since it's so hard to see where the blood may be coming from. It's possible for a rat to accidently bite his tongue, and bleeding can also occur from a mouth tumor or from an injury to or tumor in the throat. Giving your rat ice cream or a popsicle may help stop the bleeding.

Maybe does he eat meat or things like that? The only really good thing you could do is take him to the vet, but since you can't afford it, just wait around and see if it heals and if you notice anything change in him you really should just take him to the vet. Best of luck!
