I am new to this, and I was told that any all purpose spray is okay to clean a rats cage. Help?
Definatly NOT.
Use dish soap (like DAWN) an hot water ... or
what I use also disinfects very well is cheap to do, I bought two spray bottles, in one I have vinegar (however only enough to clean each time as it will mess up the plastic over time) and in the the other I have hydrogen peroxide (blacked out the bottle with spray paint so the peroxide doesn't loose it's effectiveness), then I spray one on top of the other, watch the bubbles go, and wipe off. This has a chemical reaction which disinfects as well as cleans. Once a month I do a deep clean in the tub using dawn dish soap and a rag to get any gunk off that is there is weird places, an to just get any build up off-also I like 2 make sure everywhere gets cleaned once a month in their cage as the spray technique can miss spots ...
No, I don't think it will be good for your rat. Use detergent or mild soap. Hope this helps!
