I recently discovered that i have lice, and i think i have had lice for awhile-i'm pretty sure that my rats have them, the last time i played with them they were messing with my hair. So, how do i check if they have lice? And how do i get rid of them?

PS The only vet that is near only does cats and dogs ... no rodents
Your be glad to know Rats cant get Lice.:)
They cant live on a animals body like they do a Human so dont worry about that.
They can get Ticks and mites tho so buy some parasite treatment. It can be brought from most pet shops.
Ps I loooveee rats i have 13 myself: P so anybody thAT say eeewww you dont know what you chatting about there lush

diatomaceous earth is good because it doesn't use chemicals. its fine powder that scratches the mites to death. i would imagine is safer then lice killers for dogs but i dont know if the powder is bad for rats lungs?
Give them a bath, or find a different vet maybe. Before you go to a vet, look through their fur to see if they have lice. I've heard that it looks a lot like little pieces of rice so look for that on them.

Get there's these thing for anti ticks and lice for dogs and cats but you just put it on the back of there neck or anywhere they can't get to lick it
