Will guinea pigs eat when they are sick?!?

I got guinea pigs about 1 week ago. One of the pigs I have noticed (recently) that his urine is thick and milky colored ... but it may be throw up. My mom doesnt want to take him to the vet because of the fact that he is eating. He is eating regularly and a lot. If we held a carrot up to his mouth he would take a bite immediatly. I am extremely worried about this stuff ... but I dont know if I should be. Is the milky colored and green colored stuff bad? should I be worried? If I can convince my mom that theres something wrong she will definitely take me to a vet. So If you could answer these questions and maybe give me links to articles that would be wonderful! thankyou
If this were my guinea pig it would be on the way to an exotic vet as urine with a guinea pig can be just about any color BUT GREEN.That is so not normal it scares me. Yes guinea pigs do eat while they are ill, they are prey animals and they will hide the fact they are ill until they are in the acute stages and can not hide it any longer. This is how they survive in the wild, however, it makes it difficult to get them medical care in a timely manner.
there pee is supposed to look like that and there is nothing wrong with your gunea pig. pets question and answers,www.5d2d.com

but as for the "and green coloured stuff" you didnt mention any green coloured stuff?

it eats carrot straight away because it like carrot, just like mine do.

it eats alot because thats just what guinea pigs do.

and they always pee thick milkt urine because sometimes they can concentrate it.
he is probably dying but there is nothing you can do. He has a physiological condition that is not curable and is unknown to veternarians. Just love him the same and remember that he does not have much time left of life.
First of all, guinea pigs physically can NOT vomit. At all.

The urine you describe is NORMAL. For guinea pigs, the urine is mikly white and sometimes powdery when dry; it's the calcium deposits in the pee. Unless the urine feels gritty, it's perfectly normal. This site describes what is normal in guinea pig urine and what isn't:

"Urine may be clear to cloudy in color. Calcium compounds in the urine cause this cloudiness. Normal urine is not gritty in texture. Dried urine may leave powdery white calcium compounds. Very young guinea pigs often have an orange or brown tint to their urine. Urine sometimes changes to an orange color on standing (this may be the oxidation of porphyrins in the urine). I would say that the green stuff is not normal, however.
