My guinea pig wont eat much at all. I give him hay every day pellet food and fresh vegetables.
However out of every food guinea pigs are allowed to eat- my pig seems to not eat any of it.
He loves apples, grapes, (USED TO love carrots), and cilantro and parsley. I cant give him too much parsley because of the calcium. He wont eat broccoli, he wont eat chicory, he wont eat green beans, he wont eat cauliflower, asparagus, bell peppers, and now he wont even tough the carrots. His fur is shiny still and no clouding of the eyes or nose. no wet tail, no abnormalities so i assume hes healthy. I just cant understand why when I try so many foods he wont touch any of them and he needs the variety to be healthy. I feel bad if I leave it in there and give him the eat or starve option.
he wont even eat squash tomatoes or beats. I tried large pieces, and I tried to cut them all up into his pellet sized bites and mix his foods together. Im going to be getting him a friend come january, but right now he has to be alone and im trying to make him so happy and healthy. He has so many toys i let him out for hours. fresh water and always hay... but he Needs nutrition. What can I do???

He reminds me of a little boy i once knew, he had his mother completely convinced if he ate any thing but chocolate ice cream or milk he would become very ill. They came to my house for dinner and i served him a very small proton of what my own children were expected to eat, his mom gave him his chocolate mile and ice cream. Before we started to eat i calmly told him at all people in my house ate their dinner, and all those in my house who vomited back onto their plate simply ate it again. To make a long story short he pulled the I am sick, I scoped it back into his mouth and after that night he never got sick again, he ate all foods the first time out. The morel of this story is your guinea pig is spoiled, it is getting exactly what it wants, and what sadly is not good for it. Apples should only be given every 3 days as a treat.Grapes have so much acid in them they can cause sores on his mouth if given every day and they also have to much sugar. You need to hold all of those foods and give him dark green leafy veggies only and believe he will get hungry and eat them in the end, just do not spoil him and give in and give him his candy OK.

He needs things like kale, chard, dark green lettuces, just any dark greed veggies that are in season now at the store. Kale and lettuces will be a good mix though and provide his vitamin C.

you can't. if he is not eating there may be a reason why. i suggest you take him to the vets.
